 ATTENTION ALL DENIZENS OF CANNIBAL POND !   We have the result of the CTO Special . . . SHMMEEEEE takes the gold ! . . . well played !   Silver goes to JOKKE ! . . . always in the frame - well done.  KAREE 1 hangs on to 3rd place and takes the bronze as SHARPSTRITE loses his last 3 games and stays in 4th place - bad luck, but theres always another CTO tourney on the horizon - better luck next time.  A great big well done to everyone who took part - we have seen some really competetive matches here and some surprises too - Mrklin's great victory over Karee for instance and Jokke timing out.  The middle and lower order can take comfort in the fact that we have had a good crack at it with varying degrees of success - we should all take the time to re-run a lost game or two and find where it all went wrong >>> (  weeps - dives under computer table and bites lumps out of own arm in temper  arrrrgh ) . . . well, theres just one more game to complete and then the trophy winners will receive their rewards for  fighting their way to the top of Cannibal Pond.  Hi fishfolks . . . latest from your underwater reporter . . . Top seed Shmeeeee surges past Jokke and like a flying fish leaps a point clear to  register 15 wins from 17 games - plus has a game in hand . . . which makes him uncatchable and takes the Goldfish medal !  Well played Shmeeeee.  Jokke is all played out and sits in 2nd place on 14 .  Karee1 is in 3rd position with all games played and is on 11.5 . . . but Sharpstrite looms into view and sees Karee's tail - and is after it !  Sharps  is on 11, but has 3 games left to complete - will he show how sharp his teeth are on the drifting Karee and get amongst the medal places ?  WE SHALL SEE ! 

 Hi folks . . . Shock/horror for Baba as he gets his tentacles in a tangle and now cannot make a medal place - but should still climb the table to a decent mid-table position.  Its all eyes on the top of the pond now as the leading 4 thrash into each other . . . Jokke is on 14 with 1 game left . . . Shmeeeee is on 12 and is the only 100% winner in Cannibal Pond so far , and still has 6 games to go. . . Karee1 in 3rd place is fighting Shmeeeee in his last game of the tourney.   Sharpstrite is on 10 with 5 games to go - 2 vs Shmeeeee and 2 vs Baba - the other game is against host T Z whose ripped carcass is slowly sinking into the losers slime at the bottom of the pond - where Prairie is waiting to feed ..  eeeeek 

  Hi folks . . . latest comment from your underwater reporter . .  Karee1 desperately hangs on to 3rd place with 1 game left while Sharpstrite floats below him on 8, but with 7 games to go.  Jokke keeps the lead, but the water is sure to turn red as Shmeeeee glides ever closer, just 2 points adrift of Jokke's 14. Jokke has 2 games left:- one vs Shmeeeee and the other against Sharps. 3 of these 4 will take one or the other of the medals - but ! - something stirs in the cold depths - is that a Caribbean Vampire Squid ?  A tentacled monster with a massive bite, but how long will it wait before it launches itself upwards, past the drifting remnants of the middle order, and tear into the soft underbelly of the unsuspecting leaders . .. or will it turn out to be a watery illusion ? Will the giant squid actually be a harmless water-snail, happily feeding on the dying scraps as they sink slowly to the bottom ? Only Baba knows the answer : on 5 points but with 9 games to complete, we ask - snail or squid Baba ? Your medal chances are in your own hands - all 8 of them ! Look up towards the light - and ATTACK ! 

Hi folks . . . a quick look at the table shows the favourites are still in control, but today we focus on a great game played out in the lower depths of Cannibal Pond . . . BabaHT vs Gbrown - the game starts at a brisk pace and major pieces on both sides are victims of some bold and determined play. Baba castles early and proceeds to build an armoured crabshell around his King , festooned with a barricade of barnicle-pawns to the front . . a total contrast to Gbrowns open play. This looked set to become a game of Indians circling the wagon train when Baba blunders in horrific fashion and GB, having a knight well placed, guards his Queen with it as she launches a searing, marlin-like strike from long range to spear into the unsupported barnacle on Baba's left. CHECKMATE !   Baba still has plenty of games in reserve and GBrown will remain floating around the half way mark with 1 game left . . . but this is Gbrowns best game of the tourney - a win in 17 moves against a very decent opponent. Well played ! 

 Hi Folks . . .Latest news from your underwater reporter. . .  Jokke surges even further away from the pursuing shoal as he takes out BabaHT. Only the unbeaten Shmeeeee can overtake him - BUT ! - has to win all 10 of his remaining games to do so ; Jokke has 3 left and is on 14. Baba can still claim a medal place but has now lost 3 from 8 and must play T Z who is 1 place above him and PrairieKnight twice, who is 1 place below - can he find enough to escape the twilight gloom ? 2nd place Karee1 can max out on 12.5 - 3rd is Sharps who can make 14. 4th is Shmeeeee who can acheive a maximum of 18 and  become King Neptune of Cannibal Pond - IF ! - he is victorious in all the remaining games ! - BUT ! - he still has to play Jokke, Karee, Sharps, Baba AND Prairie - not once but twice each. This can go either way - even the dying minnows can still have a say in the outcome of this tourney - if the big fish take their eye off the ball looking to destroy even bigger fish, then they could take a fatal wound from an unexpected source rising one last time from the murky depths. . . and  theres no more painful a place to take a bite than from underneath . . .man - that has GOT to hurt !  EEEEK

 Hi folks . . . Latest news from the cannibal pond . . .Jokke displaces Karee at the top on 12 - 10.5, having lost only once (to Karee). Sharps has risen from the depths to claim 3rd spot with 7 wins and still has 8 to go. Shmeeeee looks dangerous in 4th, having won all 7 of his games, only kept out of third on tie-break points, 35-32. Cracko is 5th on 6.5 with 3 to go, followed closely by Gbrown on 6, who also has 3 remaining games. T Z sinks slowly to the bottom, having been ripped apart by just about everyone and is on 5.5 . BabaHT lurks just below T Z on 5 wins from 6 games with 12 to go. Having won twice vs 2nd place Karee, this is going to be dangerous for anyone above who is complacent enough to believe this deep-cruising Caribbean shark has lost his teeth - WRONG !. PrairieKnight is in 9th place on 3.5 and 6 left to play. If he can win them all , he will attain a decent mid-table finish. Mrklin has finished his tourney after a blistering start but lies at the pond's bottom with a single win - which could turn out to be one of the most devastating wins of the tourney as he ripped the guts out of Karee1 - and it may cost Karee a medal.  Now is the time to fight for your lives - the cannibal pond has no concept whatsoever of the meaning of mercy - you lose - you die. All observe the losers fate ----->     <o^((((((>>-<    your rotting cannibalised skeleton. . 

 Hi Folks . . . Jokke gains on Karee and makes it 10 - 10.5, Karee having 3 games left while Jokke has 7 and looks good for a top 3 placing. Gbrown is 3rd with 6 points and will have to make his remaining 4 games winning ones to have a chance of staying on the surface of the pond .  Cracko hangs onto the leaders tails with 5.5 and 7 to go - she will be peering into the murky waters below, aware there are powerful predators lurking -  a fleet of cannibal barracuda's waiting to destroy anyone showing signs of faltering. T Z FLOUNDERS , as always, PERCHed mid-table . . . a DAB hand at coming nowhere - his usual PLAICE, the poor SOLE. It's making him feel EEL . BabaHT, Shmeeeee and Sharpstrite are all looking strong wiith plenty in reserve - all capable of taking a medal - no doubt the feeding frenzy will begin as they sense others slipping down. Prairieknight has to get a move on if he doesn't want to join Mrklin at the bottom of the cannibal pond - shredded, ripped - dead.

Hi folks . . . your latest news from the Fishpond Times - Karee1 edges Jokke30 out of top spot by a point and a half with Cracko hanging on like a pilot-fish to their underside.  Shmeeeee and Gbrown still have plenty to say in this tourney and are both just lurking under the surface, beady eyes fixed on the leaders.  Baba, Sharps and Prairie_knight have 39 games left between them; will we see a sudden surge of cannibal teeth attacking the unwary from below ?  Host TZ sits helpless (as usual) mid-table - easy prey for those about to rip through the shoal on their way up, and suffer the death-agonies of those sinking into the abyss who will lash out at anything on the way down...ie: check out Mrklin's fantastic attack on leader Karee1 - could THIS be the bite that cripples Karee's winning chances ? 7th, 8th and 9th have played few games - watching and waiting - preparing to launch a blistering strike upwards - razor sharp teeth ready to rip through the soft underbellies of the drifters and floaters to get to the top 3 who currently rule the wavetops. Everyone now needs to play carefully -  run and hide - or turn and fight !  One thing is sure - the cannibal pond will be turning red , and soon   . . . who is on the menu ?  

 Hi folks . . . This is your first report on the state of play so far . . . Mrklin blasts out of the traps and lashes out at everything in sight - he has played 11 games already. At the other end of the scale Shmeeeee is the only player who has yet to register a result of any kind so far.  Jokke30 leads the shoal with a fantastic 4 wins from 4 games.  Karee1, Cracko, gbrown and Prairie_Knight all have a brace of victories.  Its early days yet and Jokke looks good already but BabaHT, Shmeeeee and Sharpstrite lurk in the depths keeping cool by playing the waiting game and biding their time . . . when the strike comes, it will come fast and the unsuspecting prey will be gutted from below . . . painful !  BEWARE THE SILENT PROWLERS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CANNIBAL POND . . . They mean business and we're ALLLLL on the menu !
