Hi I'm WIM/CM Rachel! I am a x6 Olympian and the youngest ever National Woman Champion of Jamaica. I have been coaching for 5 years and my students are in the top 100 in the US for their age (+323 points, +437 points, 2nd place at US Girls Nationals). 

I believe in active learning so I ask a lot of questions to my students throughout the lesson to have them think for themselves. After teaching, I let them practice their skills in a hands-on learning environment by having them solve puzzles like in a tournament scenario. I also include a motivational element in my lessons to inspire the students to continue working on their skills throughout the week. My highest FIDE was 2019 and I was named in an article by the International Chess Federation as one of the best young players in the Americas (www.fide.com/news/670) (2020)
