My name is Ferd. I used to play blitz time controls predominantly but I've grown to hate it. Not because of the flagging but because the games are usually boring, repetitive, and devoid of any creativity (at my level at least). Now I play rapid time controls mostly, sometimes 960 (love that particular variant).
I think of a chess game as a piece of art. The most notable works of art always have an unusual detail to them that makes them so memorable. And so I'm often willing to make obscure and questionable moves to make for more interesting games.
