We offer private lessons as well and can meet at your home or public places like local libraries or cafes (including the Checkmate Cafe in Roslindale!).  Of course, we also give online lessons here at Chess.com.

    I run a chess club at Hanover High school. Myself and the other organiser are about 1300 tournament strength, then there are a few people around 1000, and the rest are sub 800. Would you be interested in coming and doing a session for us? If so, how much would it cost?

    Learn the ins and outs of the most popular board game in the world at the Boston Center for Adult Education!  Simple lessons will cover history, official rules, setup, movement and strategy. Practice in class with fellow students, and take your new skills home to challenge family and friends!

    Want to be ready for your next encounter against a particular opponent? Want to impress your family and friends? Build on "Introduction to Chess" by going beyond the basic rules and learning how to play all three phases of the game: the opening, the middle, and the endgame. Grounded in an easy understanding of tactics and strategy, this class will you show you how to think ahead in chess. Please bring your own chess set if you own one; a limited number will be provided. Limited to 16.
