Coffeehouse GM game

This is how we do it in Tolmin, Slovenia, hometown of GM Jure Škoberne. Here's him sticking a black pawn up my wazoo:

First one to pinpoint the equipment used, gets FREE hint on who to ask for a free review set. (Not me. There's a guy here who did it before.)

Looks like BCE S1EBH plus BCE Magnetic II?

Also, game score please.

The absence of collars on the pawns protects the wazoo on both insertion and removal.

It's the obscene subliminal underside of chess piece design that your pal Zizek could explain far more theatrically than I, no doubt relating it to the ideology of the German toilet.

Thank you, Izmet.

The same set that you have pictured, I ordered just 3 days ago, Sunday evening my time.  It arrived today, just 3 days later!

Sunday evening ordered to Slovenia comes delivered Wednesday evening to United States.  That's fast.

And the set looks and handles wonderfully.

Now I own both a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 Best Chessmen Ever set.  I am looking forward to receiving my Best Chessboard Ever that is being shipped with my red Dubrovnik II set.

It was 0-6, I'm afraid.

Those GM's are tough to beat. I have played Larry Christiansen, Fedorowitz & Canadian Pascal Charbonneau. I got clobbered.

NewArdweaden

I see he gave you cca. 0.5 ‰ blood alcohol odds. Still a beast, though.

It looks like the set used is a BCE Stage 2 & the board is a BCE Magnetic 2. I really need to order one of those nice boards.! It might even be BCE Stage 1 for the black pieces & BCE Stage 2 for the white pieces.

kenardi

nice set and nice board... i want one of those magnetic boards!!!

i think you got piece correct, but i'm pretty sure the board is from the first batch (Best Chessboards Ever S1QP - First Pro Batch).

the pieces could be the home edition (BCE S1 3.5" Home Edition), not sure.

kenardi

okay, i think the equipment used is:

pieces BCE S1 Tournament Chessmen ebonized.

board S1QP - red from first pro batch.

What you are saying is that I was right about the game in the picture, which is what I meant.  Laughing

Must have been fun.

The picture is not showing the white rooks so, It could be the home edition. The rooks in the BCE stage 1 are larger than the BCE Home Edition. Its hard to tell from the pic. Good Luck Ken.!

Bronco

I thought it was the tournament edition.

I agree, after taking a closer look, I do think the peices are the S1 Tournament Chessmen (ebonized).

There is a black rook on a8 and f8... with a higher resolution image i might be able to estimate better, but i think the base on the rook is closer to 37mm than 31mm.  Meaning, I think the pieces are the S1 Touenament Chessmen.

Thanks... I think he is joking about the FREE hint on who to ask for a review set.  Laughing

I hope you or Frank Helweig win. I grow weary of the guessing game.

Yes, I'm afraid you read me correctly, I can only offer a HINT for free. :) Here it is: For free review sets I point you to Carl (GM04), he often markets very fine Jaques 1849 replicas in this way.

The set is BCE S1EBT (Stage 1 Eastern Black Tournament), the board is S1QP (Stage 1 Quattro Print) from our first pro bacth. Bravo!
