Emisario Plastic Chess Pieces

These pieces look good & are heavily weighted. I am looking for feedback from those that have them. Thanks.!

The pics are at chess house dot com. I am looking to give this as a Birthday gift. I just wanted to make sure there were no Negative comments first.

The knights' manes are thin and a bit can break off fairly easily. One of mine did. Terrific otherwise.

My set actually weighed 36.8 oz., less the extra Qs, if that's of any use to know.

I didn't quite express it properly. The manes aren't actually thin, rather they consist of many fine bits. All the same, a fall to the floor can easily damage them.

I got one in ivory and black, and one in tan and maroon.

They do have a matte finish with a pleasant non-slick feel to the plastic.

Thanks Jackie.! Thats nice to know. He does not play speed chess so, a Knight falling to the floor probably will never happen hopefully.

The Chess Store used to sell a set called "The Rogue Knight" which is almost identical to the Emisario.  I have one of those and it's a great set.  The Emisario looks to be the same set except for slightly different rooks.

Looks like a very nice set although many of the colors are OOS.  Chess House is also a top rated vendor in my book. If you are looking for a color that is OOS just email them and Raf will tell you when he expects them in.  Many items could be held up in the big west coast port slow down. The merchandise is just starting to move again.

As I am a self-proclaimed expert of acronyms, in this context OOS means "out of stock."
