Going through Morphy's games with the help of silicon.

Those pieces are nice looking.! They will also protect you from sore loosers that like to throw pieces or throw the pieces on the floor after loosing a game.

A sore loser in a spelling bee might be angry enough to hit you for making them be the one who forced them to be losing.

If they turn their dogs loose on you, you might end up the loser.

I saw those pieces for sale in a couple places and they look good. Just a matter of time when they come out with a variety of styles I would think.

I bought one when they came out.  It's nice and fun but really a novelty set that I will not use for any kind of normal play.  My friend and I played a few Blitz/Skittle games with it and the weighting and balance just felt a little weird.  Granted I normally use my HOS Liberty Series Rosewood set for this and that's not fair to compare the two.  I also have quite a bit of playing experience with the solid plastic, USCF style set in our local club and the scholastic club I run.  The plastic sets play better than the Silicone.

So, I gave my Silicone set away to one of the kids in our club.

I would ask Till_98. However, I find him to be most unappreciative. I helped him so much with his English, and most of the time can't be bothered to respond to me. He thinks he is important.

After a couple of days using these pieces, I find:

1) kids like playing with them.

2) they make my hands feel dry.

I saw those for sale but couldn't see myself using them in real OTB play.
