My advice is to stop playing Blitz. Play something with a longer time limit and your game will improve. Challenge higher rated players.
A 20 Game streak, not a 40 game streak, anyways, it is still a big losing streak!
You need to play longer lasting games. Standard games where you have the time to think every move through. Plus chess will take a lot of time to become very good at it, and you should stay away from blitz when trying to learn tactics and openings. Plus use the tatics trainer to be able to recognize basic tatical ideas in games and positions. To add, you need analyze your games with the computer and by yourself. You are on the right track by whatching the videos about openings and strategy, but you need to whatch it more than once, so that you will remember the ideas and diffrent games that can play out. Yeah makes sense, I'll stop playing blitz for now and play games where I can spend more time thinking.
I'm on a pretty good losing streak myself. I've lost every game so far LOL! But I am getting better about recognizing attacks and plays, I enjoy doing the tactics trainer and am getting better at those. I made a LOT of blunders at first. I was way ahead on one game and if I had checked with my queen it could have been mate in one more move. But for whatever reason I checked with my rook. lost it, then went on to lose the game. I've just started though. I was going to suggest the OP play me. everyone beats me! For now anyway.
The timed/blitz games are not doable for me I have found. maybe someday
I once was on a 11 game losing streek.
My worst is about a 6 or 7 game losing streak
Using unlimited tactics and the lessons really helped me. Also I stopped playing blitz until I have a better handle.
After paying for a subscription and getting most benefits my ratings have gone way up and the 1 day games are so much fun and exciting. I'm winning now!

I've doing very well at blitz and working at it very seriously and have strong advice. Never play game after game when you are losing!
some nights are not good "blitz" nights. perhaps your preoccupied. perhaps you feel stressed and tense. whatever it is- you are an easy victory for someone who is feeling attentive, and alert.
so with me, I play any winning streaks until they end, and perhaps I play a couple losing games. but anything more than 3 losing games is bad enough. its clearly not my night.
hop on netflix fand so something mindless and catch up on sleep- so on another night when I am my aware and alert-- I can win game after game.
I have a simple goal. 975(ish) to 1200. I'm up to 1100. my system works. even patzers CAN play and win in blitz.
