Jack of all trades master of none?

Yeah I would say that would describe me pretty well when it comes to openings. I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on what other openings I should try, or possibly rate my style based on the openings that I most use now. And if someone is feeling extra friendly, reviewing my games (I guess skipping the 1 min bullet games) to get a better understanding.

Here are my current openings (not getting into variations)

White

e4 - mostly kings gambit, vienna game.

d4 - mostly queens gambit, but sometimes stonewall

Black

Mostly Alekhine against e4, caro sometimes and less rarely Petroff. Never Silcian.

Against d4, somewhat tied between king's indian and  nimzo. I sometimes play athough somewhat rare - benko gambit.

Can anyone suggest any other openings or give me an idea of the type of player I am based upon my opening preferences? BTW I'm generally a little stronger as a black player (more flexible I guess), and get bi-polar between extreme tactical aggression (romantic style sacs), or positional counter attacking if that makes any sense at all.

Much appreciated, for any input and if you want any of my opinions on your games just ask!

Thanks for the input, but for whatever reason I hate the sicilian. Maybe the french? I am quite familiar with it, just prefer caro because it isn't as cramped. Maybe the scotch as white? Haven't played that consistantly in a while. I generally avoid the Sic for black and Ruy Lopez for white. Thanks again for the suggestion.

"Vienna isn't very aggressive and the KG is"

The Vienna is often a KG transposition tool.

@OP I don't get why you would call yourself a jack of all trades and ask for people to recommend more openings. Why not stick with whatever you get on with best.

Especially people who wont really be familiar with you, the advice isn't going to be worth paying attention to, you know yourself best if you don't have a coach.

Yeah I can see why that would confuse people. Bascially I play blitz and am quite aware of a variety of openings, although with those that I listed I consider myself more versed with. I was guess my main question would be based on the opening that I play most, are there any other openings that suit a similar style. After reading your post I can see that my request is quite unreasonable unless someone is familiar with my playing style which would be impossible to know unless someone reviews a few of my games.

The reason why I try so many different openings is because I get rather bored quickly, and actually get annoyed if I play someone that opens with the same opening 10 times in a row with either color lol.

Sorry I guess this would be a situation where I should just hire a master to do that for me. Thank you for making that point which skipped my mind entirely.

I think you should play the two knights defense with black against e4 and semi-slav against d4.With white I suggest you play 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4. All of these openings are easy to learn and play.

Thanks Ananga, not sure if the two knights defense suits my style but I'll check it out more deeply anyway. Semi-slav seems right up my alley, I'll definitely give that a closer look, thanks.

First nothing wrong with being a jack of all trades. That is your strength and use it and let your opponents use it against you in games.

e4  Always have to have the Ruy Lopez, 2 Knights, Evans and etc.

d4 Torre Attack and Queen Gambit (opponent may confuse Torre for QG early in the game).

vs d4 The KID (The fun factor)

vs e4 ..... The one and the the only Sicilian.
