What to do against 1. e4 g6/b6

I've played a few games lately against g6 and b6 by black, and I don't know a great way of dealing with them.  Could anyone post an example game to give me an idea of what I should try and answer with?  Here are examples of what I've tried/thought of trying:

In the past, I've just played e4, d4, developed knights classically, and reinforced the center pawns with both bishops.  I'm not sure if that is the best way to go about it.

One simple setup i like against b6 is:

theres multiple ways to handle the modern, just look up a few and choose one you like.
Kopernikus

Against the modern, I believe in an English Attack like setup, with d4/e4, Nc3, f3, Be3, and Qd2.  Easy to play for mate if black doesn't play carefully, and a good place to begin a middle game even if he does.  Keeps early game thought to a minimum, if you use similar against Pirc, Sicilians, Philidor, etc.
