I refuted the QGD
And suprinsingly, 2700+ players still play it.
Should we expect you to become world champion by soon ?

Much better is the slav (slav accepted is what i play)
Please enlighten us, almost-grandmaster. What is the "Slav declined" ?
Stop being sarcastic. d4 d5 c4 c6 nf3 nf6 e3?! Bf5
You're aware 4.e3 is book, right ?
Oh, but I guess you refuted it.

The "dubious" move 4.e3 is actually what the current World Champion is playing against the Slav, and also what GM Avrukh is advocating in his 2-volume white repertoire book.
Please keep on posting, I have ordered popcorn!
It's a good way of sidestepping all those theoretical Slav lines. If I ever tried the Slav myself I'd go for the triangle system and then just watch semi slav games w/ e3. That way I would get "normal" positions w/ some queens gambit exchange on the side without learning dxc4 stuff that I'd probably never use.
oh really? a lot of books say that about e3. I used to play that until I started reading opening books. I also play the semislav
It doesn't seem to have great winning chances... I personally think its equal
This is the moment where all people in the chess world stop moving, bow before your wisdom and completely change their opening repertoire. Or isn't it ?

Or as pfren would say, they actually discover the best move is Nf3 and then they change again to Nh4...lol
d4 is better than e4 because it requires slightly harder work to move your king diagonally to d2 instead of an easy straight movement to e2 so it discourages you from making terrible moves. Also e4 allows you to blunder your queen on your second move (after ...Nf6 or ...g6) and d4 does not

Nice try, but I know your previous posts on this page were serious ones.
Depends on what you like. Karpov liked e4 and Kasparov liked d4, believe it or not.
This is mainly because of the times. 1. e4 is now considered to allow too many drawing chances among the GMs, so it is only used irregularly. 54.7% of 1. e4 e5 games are draws compared to only 50.8% of 1. d4 games according to chess365 (the Sicilian causes a lot less draws, but that's black's option to play). This is why 1. e4 is a very rare thing in world championship matches nowadays while back in 2000 and previous to that it was played all the time.
Thx for the nice info. Allow me to post it on my fb :D
e4:
White wins : 35%
draw: 38.1%
Black wins:26.9%
1_d4:
White wins: 35.5%
Draw:40.3%
Black Wins: 24.2%

Well that goes to show why it is a favorite amongst top players. It reduces your chances of losing as white, while having the same odds of winning as white. I'd rather draw than lose too, even if I prefer to give myself the best winning chances, even if those chances are the same regardless of my first move.
