It's interesting that most of the games have one of the competitors make the first move, and the other - the last.
Lasker is the first exception, with whole 3 instances: Lasker - Steinitz 1894-95, Lasker - Tarrasch 1904-05, Lasker - Janovski 1911-12. Then Capablanca takes this perk away from him in the 1921-26 Lasker - Capablanca match.
Others that have both started and ended a match are:
- Smyslov (Botvinnik - Smyslov 1954-56, and again 1958-59);
- Botvinnik (Tal - Botvinnik 1961);
- Petrosian (Botvinnik - Petrosian 1963-65);
- Spassky (Petrosian - Spassky 1966-68, and in 1969, and in Fischer - Spassky 1972);
- Korchnoi (Karpov - Korchnoi 1981);
- Kasparov (Karpov - Karparov 1985);
- Karpov (Karpov - Kamsky 1996, and Karpov - Anand 1998);
- Kramnik (Kramnik - Leko 2004, Kramnik - Topalov 2006, and Kramnik - Anand 2008);
- Anand (Anand - Gelfand 2012).
All of them save for Botvinnik have done so against players who have achieved this too. Botvinnik beat Tal, and Tal hasn't both started and ended a match.

I don't see why this is important and how it can help my game.

MuhammadAreez10

Good info.

Now can you sort it in a table?

DavidJMarsh

Yeah guys, this isn't really supposed to help with your game.

I just think it's interesting to know the first and especially the last moves of world championship history
