Why does nobody speak of Carlsen?

Sorry if this is a dumb topic but whenever I read on here about great chess players, I never see Magnus Carlsen mentioned, I know he is ranked #1 in the world but is he "overrated"? As in he got lucky and it's expected he won't hold onto the top spot or something?

Why doesn't anyone ever mention him around here? Considering he is #1 in the world and has the highest ELO in history. Is it just because he is still very young and so isn't respected as much as the grand daddies of chess?

Of course he's mentioned. You must not be looking very hard.

no one mentiones him? they couldve had me fooled.

He is of course probably the best in the world at the moment, but as you said, "he is still very young and so isn't respected as much as the grand daddies of chess".

He hasnt quite seemed to have found his way onto many players greatest of all time list, probably as he has not won the WCC yet.

Yeah this is a strange comment. He's probably the most talked about guy in the chess world right now.

Rule #1 is that you don't talk about Carlsen... and Rule number TWO...

Has Magnus Carlsen ever been beaten sinse turning grandmaster? Is there a site which displays every game grandmasters have played with their win/draw/lose ratio?

Yes, by Peter Svidler and Wang Hao and surely some other guys. I can recommend you this site, OP: www.chessvibes.com.

It's like the CNN of the Chess world. Smile
