I just wanted to know everyones opinion on if chess 960 helps you improve in standard chess.

Your capability exists in either. 960 may help to let you know how good your visual-spacial chess qualities are without the shackles of by rote opening database moves.

I really think that whatever kind of Chess you want to be good at is the kind of Chess you should play. If you want to get good at OTB, play OTB. If you want to get good at blitz, play blitz. If you want to get good at 960, play 960.
