Standard chess is dead since we have computers. Fischer knew this when he was alive in the 90's. That's why he invented Chess960. The problem with standard chess is that even great players now consult their favourite computer program and memorize what it tells them to play. Then they use that memory to set opening traps on players who have not used their computers. So human to human play is now polluted with computer analysis because of memorization and it forces players to memorize openings.
The rules for Chess960 are identical to Chess! One bishop on a light square, the other on a dark. Rooks on either side of the king. You castle king or queenside but you cannot castle if an opponent's piece is attacking one of the squares that the king must castle through. Exactly the same as standard chess. It's not rocket science.
Standard chess is position 518 in Chess960 so if you are lucky, you have a 1/960 chance that you can still play your favourite computer memorized opening anyway
