Clocks

I always play blitz (3 min) and, recently, whenever I am black, my clock starts ticking down before I have made my first move. In my most recent game, the same thing happened to my opponent before he had moved and he was white. The game was then aborted by the server, and I got that familiar automated message telling me not to abort, even though I never do. Am I the only one that this kind of thing happens to all the time?

Each side must make their move in 15 to 20 seconds maximum or the game is considered abandoned.  It's in the Help & Support articles; maybe the section on fair play or aborting.  So move a bit quicker in the very opening of the game and see if those messages go away.

I move FAR quicker than 15 to 20 seconds, normally within 2 or 3 seconds. But often the screen freezes for several seconds and I am unable to move (it doesn't happen with other websites, only this one).

I should add that, now that i keep noticing that my clock starts before I make a single move, I deliberately don't then make a single move. Because I don't want to start off at a disadvantage.

Maybe the answer is to find a different website that doesn't have all these bugs? Can anyone recommend one?

Just now, I thought I would try to play a game despite all the bugs. The normal pop-up appeared telling me not to abort. My opponent appeared and moved. I clicked on the pop up to get rid of it, because it was distracting me and my clock was already ticking down (despite the fact I hadn't moved yet). And then it said I had resigned (having still not made single move!). It really is time to find another website...

If you want another website for chess, I recommend www.chesstempo.com. You can play chess games and practice tactics and different parts of the game, such as the endgame. In my opinion, it's a great website for all levels.
