but I just realised that we cannot capture using the above method?
we got to drag the piece if its doing a capture.

I discovered the point-click, point-click style of mouse moving on my own too. As far as I know it works fine for capturing pieces too.
I play with slow time controls.
MetalRook67, having examined some of your games, I observe that your most common mouse slip appears to be accidentally pressing the "Resign" button.
Stop making excuses, develop the necessary co-ordination or play slower games and remember it's only a game!
The last few days I've had the same thing. I really don't care about losing or about my rating, I just want to enjoy the game, so no excuses here. Seriously, for some reason unknown to me it keeps on slipping (I have the mouse still 'clicked' but the piece drops anyway).
Doesn't anybody else have this experience?

No.
It sounds like a bad mouse. Do you have a spare you could try?
You could also try the double-click method. Click and release on the from square, then click and release on the to square. I use this because my hands don't work well.
Greetings to all Chess fans...I just wanted to share my experience with other members who maybe suffering from the dreaded "Mouse Slip" phenomenon....goodness knows at least 70% of my losses thus far have been due to mouse slips...and I have asked members for solutions with no sucess. Yesterday after 2 consequence losses due to mouse slips I just about had it and started to see if there is any other way to move the pieces besides dragging and tranferring them to the "desired" squares...well THERE IS!! All you have to do is click the piece and then click the square you want it to go to.....For those of you who knew this all along and didnt share: well shame on you!! But since I have practically asked every member I have played against regarding a solution to Mouse Slips with no answers I am thinking I am no the only one not knowing the alternative...anyhow hope this helps those members...nothing worse than getting stuck in a match where accidents make you play a forced game.
