personally i don't like it for now. i was used to the other form, but i think it lacks information that one could look at just by reading the name.
New game's name?

For me it's a very bad change. I know who is playing in my games, I don't need that information again. And I need an information about tournament/match name.

I can't fathom why the change would be intentional, nor can I see it being accidental. When you go to the game the name of the game is still what it was ("Let's Play!" or whatever you put in there), but the name on the main page is that ridiculous me v. you format. I happen to know that I am one of the players in all of my games, guys, and I also know that the person listed in the leftmost column happens to be my opponent. What's the deal?

Oh my folks. It is just standardizing the format. Tournament games are not referred to as "Fox in Socks in Box III" (my last name being Fox, I would do silly things like that sometimes).
Now it is standardized Fox v. Carlos. You can refer to it as Fox v. Carlos, 2009, game 2. It is a standard format.
This seems like a very minor thing to get upset about. Spend your time learning a new opening instead. If we get some great players to play at Chess.com we can now refer to that game to a wider Chess community in a format they will understand.
Fox in Socks

I'm not sure I could've learned an entire new opening in the 90 seconds it took me to write my original message, even factoring in the minute it'll take me to write this, but thank you for thinking of how I decide to use my time. I was simply commenting (without an iota of "upsetness," if that's a word) that I LIKED that you could name your games something other than the standard opponent v. opponent. A name, you might be surprised to know, can convey more information than who is playing who. It's colorful, flavorful, and personal, in its own tiny way.
Besides, the only reason that the standard you refer to is the standard way to refer to games is because it quickly and easily conveys the necessary information (who played, when, and where usually), but all of that information is already included in the view on the My Chess or My Online Chess page. Why repeat it? You say standard, I say cluttered, repetitious, and dull.

It is still http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=xxxxxxxx
I can't see any "Fox vs. Carlos" reference here. It won't help anyone.

I would like to have some of what JollyPlayer is taking, to be so cool as to not listen to legitimate concerns must be great, the names of games are important to some of us, and a bit of fun to others, why the change?

In addition we currently have the possibility to see the opponent's name in the first column called "Opponent"..

There is no point in this. I can see my opp name and then streptomicin vs opp, I already know who I am playing with, and the GN was great shortcut for opening tournament and team matches, this is no good.

I have to agree with most people here; this is a bad move. If they're going to show White vs Black then the opponent column becomes redundant. Maybe they should have changed the opponent column to White vs Black and left the game name column alone.

i am honestly amazed at some of the things people complain about on this site.
Some members use this as a social site, and certain things can help them, and add a little colour to their games, if something does not affect you, and if you dont understand why it does affect others, why comment? (or are you amazed by your own complaint)
And thanks for the fix chess.com

and as to your "why comment" question, well this is a forum. i may be mistaken but "commenting" is what you do in forums.

I thought it was a forum for those who wanted to comment on the change to the Games Names list, not for comments by those who are "Amazed" about something else, you can start your own amazing forum on that :-)
Hey, just for ask about the change in the games name, displaying Opp1 Vs Opp2 instead of tournament name, team match, etc.. well, what's the point?.. just curious
