The Chinese Dragon

Sort:
Spectator94

Hello. Hereby I would like to invite everyone to join the new group focused on the study of the fascinating Chinese Dragon variation.

The Chinese Dragon consists of Rb8 rather than Rc8, with the idea of using the open b-file to launch a rather straightforward yet potentially very dangerous attack on the White king. Sometimes the b-file is opened by saccing the b-pawn. The variation provides a way around the dreaded Burnett Variation, or ''12 Kb1''.

What does the group have to offer?
-A very well organized forum to support our study
-No match pressure - it's all about studying
-An active, supportive and dedicated admin
-Questions to the admin can be submitted in three languages (English, French and Dutch)

Requirements to join
-None, altough everyone is encouraged (not strictly required) to participate

Yes, from what I have seen he is a very informed, good player and we are already engaging in discussion in some theoretical lines in the Chinese Dragon. The group is just starting out, but it's definitely worth it!

Who wouldn't want to find out more about positions like this?

Love that game, undoubtly the highest ever rated game featuring this variation.

Spectator94

Interesting is 13...e5! 14 Ne2 b5! because it's dangerous for White to play 15 Rxd6. After 13...b5 14 Nd5! is strong for White.

Apart from a great forum we now also have some vote games going, a list with interesting games played in great overview and also a list/summary of online sources one can learn from. Everyone is welcome to join the group.

After 9...Be6 do you take on e6, play 0-0-0 or even something else?
