I am going to be attending the University of Oklahoma this month and I am going to join the chess club. Does anyone in the community attend this university?

I think it is great that you will be joining the University of Oklahoma chess club! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. When you start attending please be sure to add the University chess club to our "Clubs" page here so that others will know about it and maybe they will visit the University club also.

Nah, but you've got to keep us posted on how it goes.  Have you been practicing a lot/played in any tournaments lately?

I attend OU.  And I don't think we have a legit chess club.  But we can start one.

I will post it as soon as I start attending.

Yeah, I have been practicing some, but I haven't played in any tournaments.

OU doesn't have one. It is about like the pingpong club.

Hello, if you guys want to play some real chess play in one of our many oklahoma tournaments.  The Oklahoma state Championship is in OKC in June, we have the TX vs Oklahoma match coming up in Davis Oklahoma.  The US championship(you can't play) is in Tulsa in August.  We have the North American Open to be held in Stillwater soon as well.  I play frequently in OKC at the Barnes and Noble on May ave on Wednesdays between 7- and 11pm.  I'm around 1930 USCF rating and 2080 FIDE international chess rating so may be a little strong for you guys but don't mind chatting about chess any time.  Shaun

Hey guys,

you can find the Chess Club at OU under following website: http://oklahoma.orgsync.com/org/chess/home

It is open for public so open and free even if you are not a OU student!
