I floated an idea that USA is broken up into too many small pieces that render us uncompetitive in the 2009 World League.  Looking at the results of the league I do not see any one of the parts greater than 4th place.  We have been unfairly partitioned that places us at a disadvantage.  What is your opinion?

I agree!

but then again there are WAAAAY to many americans..

You guys have like 200 000 Americans while we have 2000 Serbs on here..

and yet we do pretty good.

It's called Gerrymandering.

Not much you can do about it though.

I agree.  Dissatisfaction with regional US teams is what led me to play for Germany.  If I can't play for my country, I can at least try and help my friends.

I have to admit to being frustrated by my (USA Southeast) team's poor performance in the World League, but what are you going to do?  Far more than 200k, the USA has 353358 members here.  It's not evenly distributed geographically, but even 1/10th of that is larger than all but two whole countries here (India & UK)!

It's not reasonable to have one team 50 times the size of the others in a league.  The potential dominance is just one problem; it would also significantly reduce the number of you who get to play.  If you're not consistently on one of the top boards for your team now, guess what, you're not going to cut it for a unified US team.  Is that more fun to win as a spectator than to play as a participant?

No, the real problem with the US teams in the World League is just that the US players don't seem to care that much about them.  Even fractured among 6 teams, the US pool of players is so large that the teams should be the strongest on the site IF all the strong players in that region actually played in the World League.  I guess "North Central" just doesn't fire up the same kind of patriotism as Team Phillipines or Team Greece.

This is the main group you can see the standings in here.

Actually, one USA team is 2nd in Group B but in the top group (Group A) USA South East is tops and is 5th overall.

But yes, the USA teams in Group A I have noticed have been preforming very poorly and have had few numbers turning out.

this site is being " controlled " from California, the owner is American, so as most of it's staff and mods, obviously most of the members would be americans too Thiago. Plus it's kinda young and new compare to the other sites, with many years to come, the non american members will be more for sure.

Don't forget that the system is all in English too btw.

It's not only about competitiveness. It's about regulations, isn't it? I mean, Team Western USA whatever is not a country to represent in the WL. USA is one country, so only one team should represent in the WL. Am I missing something?
