Hello, chess.commers!

Rules and other stuff:

- Only the two players (VULPES_VULPES and 2a3a1a) may call out the official moves, which must be written in algebraic notation in bolded green size 7 font.

- Kibitzing is allowed, but no posting suggestions or variations should be visible to the players. Specific moves or square names cannot be posted by those who are not playing the game, but broad self-analysis is allowed (i.e. "Black might double bishops to pressure that pawn" instead of "Black might double bishops on the a1-h8 diagonal to pressure the d4 pawn").

- any sort of engine use by any one of the players is not allowed.

- there cannot be more than one queen on the board for each player at a time.

- the board position will be updated every half-move.

- alerts will be announced in RED SIZE 5 FONT IN ALL CAPITALS

Stay tuned and enjoy the game!

Since when did white get a queen?

Thanks for pointing that out.

Two questions:

1. Can you castle?

2. Can you promote a pawn to something else rather than bishop/knight (if you are the bishop/knight player respectively)?

1. No, you cannot castle

2. Never thought of that! I'm gonna have to say yes, because there might be a case where a queen could mean the difference between a loss and a win. That rule is also fair to the knight-player in the endgame.

I suspect black has some 100 move forced win btw. I am not trolling, I love the knights to no end, but the bishop octuo is guarrantees domination one way or another.

I tried an engine bullet tournament with the same position. Even if the white knights had the initiative, they were still evaluated as half a pawn down. Not that bad.

Aren't there only 7 bishops?
