Any ideas for a chess club dinner menu?

Obviously we could have pawn cocktail for starter, and possibly the fried liver. Maybe a fischer pie?

If it was a chinese meal, I suppose you could have a choice of starters, say pawn crackers and chinese spare rybka

You could have an Indian meal.

Maybe some Scotch to drink.

I suppose having a meal out is very much like a game of chess...it ends with a cheque.

The old saw:

A hotel was hosting a chess tournament, and the first evening some of the players were waiting near the front desk for some friends. They were talking about the games they'd won that day to pass the time. The manager came up and asked them to stop talking.

"Why?" asked on of the players, "we're just talking quietly and not disturbing anyone."

"I'm sorry," replied the manager, "I just can't stand the sound of chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."

There once was a team whose chosen name was something on the order of: "Benoni Sämisch on Ruy with a Falkbeer."

why was the pawn so happy?  because he got a promotion.  what band do chess players like the most?  Queen    what super hero do chess players like most?  Gambit   why did the bishop go to jail?  because he was a bad bishop      what do you call a socially awkward pawn?  a backward pawn    what do you call a boring wife/husband?  a stalemate    why are doubled pawns bad?  cause two pawns dont make a right      what do you call a civil servant in solitary confinement?  an isolated pawn
