i keep getting deleted

wow.  i started another one that got deleted.  that's got to be a record.  3 threads deleted in one day.  i wonder if WARDCHESS can shake a stick at that.  this should make #4.

Not only Awardchess posts should be deleted, but his account as well.

to be fair his spam was eventually deleted.  mine was axed first. and i was given a really terribly vague explanation as to why it was, but they slapped my wristthe  last time i tried to share that with you--the community.  i know most of you refuse to say anything even remotely negative about this site--and for the most part i really enjoy chess.com, so much so that i give them money, but this secrecy stuff is whacky.

maybe this wasn't explained clearly to you: that spam was not deleted immediately, because they were waiting for me to wake up and see it. so that i would understand the problem we have with this fellow. make sense now?

it was not explained like that.  thanks.  BUT i think it was pretty dodgey--at best, that when i started a new thread saying basically what you just said, minus the part about your needing to wake up, i was again reprimanded and deleted for posting material contained in a private message.  i'm not so sure i agree that that is what i did.  i messaged kohai and asked why a paraphrasing of his message to me was not permitted to be posted, he ignored me and proceeded to erase my next thread.  also, all the private messages he sent me are also missing from my in box.  something fishy this way comes.  it's just stupid that we have to deal with this.  i get that my spam was worth deleting.  the point was made.  i created it so it would get deleted.  i don't give a shit about spamming.  i was merely bugging AWARDCHESS and cramping on his style.  more of us should.  i don't care about his membership, but his ability to post that crap should be altered.  but that's another story for another times.  i'm just really aware right now of the silly power staff members have to erase stuff we write--even personal messages.  i know it's a business.  i have defended your rights to do this in the past, but the messages?  really?  and then to ignore me when i ask why?  haha silly chess.com.

oh yeah, and i reserve the right to force you to erase spam in the future...

Awardchess is a joke. He's annoying, apparently ignorant, and a downright troll in my opinion. I would even go so far as to guess that over 90% of those thousands of posts he has aren't helpful, nor relevant.

well, as i understand it, the rules say you can't post private messages. that makes sense to me. i guess the area around paraphrases could become a bit gray, insofar as there might be something that you want to discuss-- how else can you discuss it? but i think it's best to err on the side of respecting privacy (when you make judgments about what to post).

if you have some problem, i think it's preferable if you deal with it with us privately. if you're having a problem with one staff/support member, and you really believe they are in the wrong, ask them to please get the opinion of one of their coworkers. i believe that in all cases they will. at that point, be prepared that if two or three of us agree on something, you might be wrong.

the censorship is pretty tight here. I'm taking my chances just saying that.  If you've ever seen "Kasparov's wrong move" on youtube with the bulging eyes, that's the face they make right before they delete a post. I've said too much already. It's not safe. Meet me in the woods at dusk.

we try not to be heavyhanded about this stuff, but sometimes things get crazy and we try to make the best decisions. we are human. i wasn't involved in this issue, but i'm sorry if it offended you. as for how you were treated, if you feel that anyone from the staff was less than courteous with you, please personally message me about that. we have rules and we enforce them, but we should be doing it with fairness and kindness.

i do think staff should not be able to make a person's personal messages disappear.  but i totally get the spam thread being erased.  as i said, i expected it.  what a kick ass thread it was though.  AWARDCHESS would have been so proud.

Why doesn't his spam get deleted and yours does? Does it have to be reported?

his did get deleted today.  in the past his threads have been allowed to carry on for page after page after page.  but today his was also removed.  as was said in this thread staff was waiting for dpruess to log in before his was addressed today.  i'm not sure why that is.  i'm just happy this much attention is being drawn to how lame his threads are.  i hope we can all learn a valuable lesson.  now come on kids, let's play some chess!
