Annonated Chess Databases

Could somebody please help me out by providing recommendations of good databases of masters' chess games, preferably databases that have many annotated games?

ChessBase Mega Database 2009 contains 62,000 games (out of 4 million+) annotated by experts:

I don't think it's especially helpful for novices though. (I have it myself, and from memory, the annotations are mostly variations and symbols).

Right, I hear you about symbolic variations. Annotation using words would be preferred at my low level lol:) thx tho! Maybe there's a base that isn't entirely comprised of annotated games using words, but has a fair amount of them? Or maybe not even a database, wherever anyone knows games like this are availabe for study, I'd great appreciate it!
