Chess Endgame/ Life analogies

Can anyone give me any analogies they know (or can think of) in regards the endgame that can pertain to life?

For example: Something like "At the end of the day the pawn and King go in the same box" = Everyone dies the same no matter how great you are.

or

"Plan ahead with your endgame in mind" = Focus on your future goals.

Any help?

In the endgame you have less and less pieces and at some point the game is over = As older you get as fewer abilities you have. Some day at the climax of all this you will die.

As fewer pieces are on the board as harder the position might be= As less abilities you have as harder your life is.

Thanks!

Anyone else?

My experience of being a grandfather this year has given me a new found reverence of the potentiality of the newborn. It occurred to me this morning that a pawn has a similar potentiality

I don't have any of those........ But I do have some advice that applies for chess and life!

  1. Take your time
  2. Manage your time well
  3. Don't go too fast
  4. Stay calm
  5. Go with what you think is right
  6. Don't give up even if things aren't going your way
  7. Consider your opponent's plans (feelings)

And many others.............

Just like one move can end a game, one wrong decision can end yours.

Yes, the one wrong move that can decide your fate is one off the tougher things of chess, but in life there are usually second and third chances.

Uh............. Usually? One wrong step killed my grandma........ Many people die from one mistake. Drugs, drunk driving, tripping, etc.

Lc0_1

Tripping as in you trip over a chair, to be clear.

The game (life) end with checkmate (marriage).

Life begins at 40. (After 40th move, endgame begin)
