Did Magus Carlsen apply hypnosis in round 9 ?

They said Lasker used psychology too. Turns out his secret was he was just better than everyone else.
No. You have it so wrong. Anand hired this guy to hyponotise Carlsen and it went wrong; Anand hypnotised himself by mistake:

My personal belief is that Carlsen made a deal with the devil to win his WC match against Anand, and the Devil sent him the spirit of Mikhail Tal to hypnotize Anand with his glaring eyes.
Of course, little does Carlsen know that the real Anand is long dead, a mere shell for the ghost of Vikor Korchnoil, who is in a conspiracy with Garry Kasparov to murder the son of Anatoly Karpov and thus become the king of Chess forever.

Hmm hiring a hypnotist (or battle-mage or voodoo-priest) is an even better idea ! Like Karpov who hired the well-known hypnotist Dr. Zukhar to beat Korchnoi 1978. A commision even ruled that this hypnotist was disturbing Korchnoi, so that he was not allowed to sit in the first rows - although he did nothing else but staring at Korchnoi during the match, like all the other spectators did

So Kasparov is the hypnotist? Or perhaps a psychic, and he psychically brutalized Vishy from a distance?

Actually I'd not be surprised if Kasparov is a mighty sorcerer. Maybe a high ranked illuminati mage ?
Probably many top level chess players are. Most books about magical training put a high emphasis on training the visualisation ability. It is an absolute prerequisite for some magical skills. One needs to be able to visualize things in one's mind as if they are real. This imagination/visualisation is for example required to set things in motion on higher planes/spheres, also for telepathy, mental projection of pictures and some sorts of remote hypnotic impact techniques (think of Jedi mind tricks).
And what are the top chess players good at ? During the calculation process they are constantly training to see things (positions/pieces) that are not on the board. This is nothing but intense training of a must-have skill for magical works. The higher their visualisation ability, the better they usually are in chess. In reverse, the really good chess players must have at least a good potential to be mighty mages and high adepts of the arcane arts.

All of us who were watching game 9 yesterday, were stunned and mesmerized
possibilities:
- kasparov is a high voodoo priest who used remote esoteric hypnotism to make anand blunder
- anand drank too much tea and made impulsive blunder because of the extra caffeine
- kasparov's presence boosted carlsen's confidence considerably and perhaps this is where anand's strong start began to weaken.
- creepy troll who stands in background staring at the players through the window is hypnotising them psychically
- or, perhaps carlsen is just better at chess than anand lol.

if he ever did so... how come he got such a high rating ???? well that i another way of looking at the scene... may be...!!!
Viktor Kochnoi (and who wants to contradict Korchnoi ;)) gives an answer to that in the article mentioned above:
"In the chess world there are a few people with absolutely incredible hypnotic abilities. Not so long ago I wrote in one of my books that there were three chess players in history who could (or can) read thoughts of their opponents: (Mikhail) Tal, (Henrique) Mecking and Carlsen. That's what, I think, explains the Norwegian phenomenon. He reads thoughts," Korchnoi added."

All of us who were watching game 9 yesterday, were stunned and mesmerized, when Anand played that fateful 28. Nf1 which lost him the game instantly and sealed the loss of whis WC title.
But how did that happen to such a strong super GM ? A 1-move-blunder, played so quickly, as if something was forcing him to play that ?
The true reason behind this move might be conscious or unconscious hypnosis, a topic that was elaborated in an indian newspaper article weeks before the match:
"There are strong speculations in the chess world that Carlsen uses hypnotic powers and it was refueled during the third-round match at the Sinquefield Chess Cup in Saint Louis on September 12 this year, when American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura surprised everyone by wearing sunglasses for his game against Carlsen.
Many felt Nakamura tried the sunglasses to avoid eye contact with Carlsen, even though the US GM looked to play it down. "I just felt like doing something different...Why not? Life is short, might as well have some fun every once in a while, considering how overly serious chess seems to be at times," he tweeted.
But that didn't stop the chess websites to harp on the hypnosis theory, that Carlsen allegedly uses to force his opponents into making blunders. Many experts believe chess hypnosis exists and is used by focusing really hard on a particular square during the game to unsettle the opponent.
Back in 2011, 80-year-old legend Victor Korchnoi said in an interview that he firmly believed Carlsen has achieved his success due to "hypnotic abilities".
"I don't see that Carlsen has the chess ability and I can't understand at all how he achieves such incredible success. I can guess why, but it's got no direct relation to chess," Korchnoi had said. ..."
