How can I upload a pgn on chess.com and anaylze it?

I have tried many software but many of them cost a lot especially since I am paying preminum membership on Chess.com. Is there a feature where I can use Chess.com to anaylze chess games? Thanks!

To get the computer analysis here, I think you have to analyze games played on chess.com.

However, I think that the computer analysis is one of the weakest features of chess.com. As a premium member, it's a little stronger (it says 2500 level ELO), but it's still much weaker than most of the engines out now. (which are running above 3000 ELO).

You should get and download a free engine like Stockfish using a free GUI like Arena. They will analyze any pgn file on demand. You can limit the time search if you want it to look at a whole game or have it search on one position until the cows come home.

@notmtwain

Thanks for your reply but when I download stockfish, and open the program, it opens a bunch of folders instead of running the program.

You can't run an engine like Stockfish on its own. You have to run it with a graphic user interface (GUI) program like Arena or Fritz.  I included the link to Arena above. You install Arena or Fritz and then add Stockfish as an engine.

I have downloaded Arena 3.5 but it isn't a program but rather a bunch of files like stockfish. What am I doing wrong?

There is an executable file called Arena in with the bunch of files.

You probably downloaded the ZIP file, which doesn't have an installer. (As notmtwain mentioned, you'd have to double-click on the Arena.exe file to start up the program.)

If you want to install Arena, try downloading the setup file:

Just use this: http://en.lichess.org/paste

It's a free engine available online provided by lichess. Basically you just need to import the pgn file and hop you get a browsable replay, computer analysis and shareable link.

Saves a lot of time and you can use it wherever you are.

ChessLab also works great for game analysis: http://www.chesslab.com/PositionSearch.html

One more question, on lichess.org, why can't I move the pieces when it the traning section?

I think it only allows the piece to move if it's the correct move. If you try to make a wrong move, the piece won't move, and you'll get a "puzzle failed, but you can keep trying" message.
