how many moves were made? The other thing you should be aware of is that there is an automatic vacation mode that kicks in when a time out is approaching for players that subscribe...... he may not even have been aware that it had kicked in...... perhaps his computer crashed.....

There have been entire games, even decisive ones, played with no captures. ;)

Advice please- have just made early resignation from new game in disgust because player announced vacation only 43 mins. before Time out.There had been no captures or exchanges by either side yet opponent was awarded full winning points . I feel this very unjust because previously I had several times previously resigned and was advised no score was applied because of too few moves for judgement..
