What Records or Achievements Have You Done in Chess or nonChess?

Wii Sports  I achieved a record rating/score of 2399 in Wii tennis of 2399 to tie for high.  83 others did the same thing.  Funny thing is in my household both of my sons can beat me badly at Wii tennis despite my record. Another funny thing is I am unable to use the net guy when I play and all the other record holders for sure use the net guy quite often.

Wii Sports  [bowling]  I just looked it up and the record holder [this was in 2009 however] is a player named doug who has 255 perfect games of bowling.

A perfect game is 12 strikes in a row from start to finish in a game.

I have 462 perfect games I have played to date in Wii bowling.

How do you see the leaderboard for wii sports?

Bowling a perfect game is probably a lot easier on the Wii than in real life. One of my sons routinely "ran" a mile on the Wii in under 4 minutes, which would make him a world class runner in real life (whereas in real life, he could barely run a mile in 15 minutes). I later found out that he "ran" by shaking the Wii remote with one hand while sitting down and watching TV, whereas you are supposed to run in place while holding the remote.

Yes, absolutely, it is much easier to bowl a perfect game in Wii sports than in real bowling. Same goes for tennis golf baseball etc.

I googled the best scores in Wii sports.  I am not even on the leader board as my Wii broke and I never turned in the games.  I bought another one a few weeks ago. But never the less I did bowl all those perfect games. One I recorded from start to finish  "I am now going to bowl a perfect game" and I did.  The most strikes in a row was  31  two perfect games of 12 each and in the 3rd game 7 in a row before I threw a spare.

The most difficult was Wii tennis as I am not very good and cannot even use the front guy.

Wii bowling I figured out a special way to do it.

In chess, I achieved nothing. Maybe only a draw against GM, but he played blindfold simul with 5 other players.

In life, I was multiple (10x) national U12 swimming champion, also had a national record (50m butterfly) for "only" 2 years I think. :)

Represented my country. That's my biggest achievement + probably always will be.

Chesswise? Pfft. I drew a CM OTB, but he was tired + it was pretty iffy. I'm still working on my chess.

also drawing a blind simul against a gm is pretty good, take a look at alekhines blindfold games when he was in hospital

It might be Billion_Tactics_Boy was heavily underrated because of some silly loses which cost him many rating poits but when he started to play with his full strength and avoided simple blunders his rating established at a point which reflects his actual chess ability.

He might also start playing against higher-rated opponents which gives one much more rating points for a win

I've done some cool things in sports (won leagues, tournaments, MVP games etc), but only at a local level.

Also won some video game tournaments at a regional level.

I guess that's about it.

Basically I'm Class A sports and Expert level video gamer.

I'm good at what I do as a career, but it's not really a "competitive" type of thing.

In over-the-board USCF I  won from every grandmaster I ever played [1] and have about a 62% score against USCF masters and met the requirements to become a USCF master. In my last 16 games I had a performance rating of above 2430. [this is an estimate]

I have won or tied for first in about 10 USCF over the board tournaments.

On a side note, I have played 3 players who are now grandmasters and won from all three.

I am a published writer. A story titled "Maid to Order" was published in the October 2012 issue of The Ultimate Writer. It's a smaller publication by the same publisher as Conceit magazine.
