you have to claim your draws. it does not give them to you automatically
Why is this not draw?

forgot to hit the claim draw button.
Oh, nuts.
I was under the impression that it registered draw automatically? Or perhaps this is just my experience from every other chess site i´ve played on?
Oh well, now i know until next time.

Actually, you were missing two things. For one, the third repetition only occured on move #8. (... Qe5 check) and as it was pointed out you have to claim it by hitting the draw button. The software won't automatically do it for you.

Ok, have to claim draws, gotcha.
And 8... Qe5+ does, as you rightly point out, lead to the same position 3 times. However, the rules are fairly unambiguous;
"The game may be drawn if any identical position is about to appear or has appeared on the chessboard at least three times."
So we are both correct.

Sorry, I made a mistake. Indeed, the 7th move is the third repetition. I completely ignored the first Qe1 check.
I recently played a live game on this site and i´m somewhat puzzled. Isnt this a draw?
I lost the game on time after some 20+ moves.
From fide.com;
Laws of Chess, Article 5.2, d.
"The game may be drawn if any identical position is about to appear or has appeared on the chessboard at least three times."
From wikipedia;
"In chess and some other abstract strategy games, the threefold repetition rule (also known as repetition of position) states that a player can claim a draw if the same position occurs three times, or will occur after their next move, with the same player to move. The repeated positions need not occur in succession."
Why am i wrong?
