Have you seen how poorly he plays? He would get crushed.
Will Anand defend against Carlsen?

yet he's the highest rated player in the world..... but he plays "poorly"
i like to see how the great Yereslov would do against Magnus, who plays "poorly"
I was talking about Anand.

Kasparov in a very recent interview said that Carlsen will be almost for sure the next world champion.
The same thing has been said about Karjakin...
I wish I could play so poorly...
"Poorly" in relation to Carlsen, not in relation to you and me.
Gelfand on the question "Who plays better: Ivanchuk in good form or Carlsen:
"I’m sure it’s exaggerated. I remember a couple of years ago playing in Wijk aan Zee. I played poorly, but in terms of rating it was one of the strongest tournaments and included all the top players. I think more than half of the participants had also played in Linares 1994, in a similar tournament. (Translator’s note: 6 of the 14 players in Corus 2008 also played in Linares 1994 - Kamsky and Shirov were absent from Corus.)That was probably the strongest Linares, when Karpov won brilliantly. So in 15 years the composition of the world elite hasn’t changed greatly. Of course, people have come in – like Carlsen and Aronian… But still, those who were playing before – Anand, Ivanchuk, I’ve been a little less successful but I’m at about the same level, plus Kramnik and Topalov, who’ve already been in the elite for an incredible length of time, Shirov – it strikes me that on the whole they still haven’t got any weaker. Of course, as the years go by it’s harder to maintain stability – I’ve realised that. Therefore the swings in results are far greater, but when one of the players from our generation is in good form it’s hard to say that any current player is better. Who plays better, Ivanchuk in good form or Carlsen? It seems to me it’s Ivanchuk in good form."

Where are you getting all these recent interviews from, you always seem to pull them out of a hat...

Probably ChessBase.
You heard it folks, Ivanchuk at his best is superior to Carlsen.
So what? He's not interested in the candidates.
The amount of times I've heard about Carlsen 'He's not that great, his opponents just play worse against him', it's cringeworthy, and people are missing the point.
I don't think Carlsen will destroy Anand, but I do think he will win convincingly. I think people overestimate the difference between match and tournament play. Ultimately, I really do think what's most important is being able to play good chess. Also, Carlsen has the kind of style where he can grind his opponents for a long time without really risking a loss. Especially the fact that he is young suggests this kind of chess will be something he will be able to execute, and Anand might eventually grow weary and commit blunders similar to the one he did against Mickey Adams in the 2012 London Classic. Even Gelfand gave Anand a challenge -- he will really have to raise his play compared to that match IMO.
magnus has "bad" opening prep, but yet he is constantly beating super GM's..
Magnus is rewriting chess, that you don't have to study on opening theory for hours to be hood
