Looks like Kramnik has a pretty good chance if he can keep his rating up. Or he could just win the World Cup like he did the last time around. You never know.

I wish fischer was back.
Well, a lot of chess fans do. But why do u say that in this particular context?

6-0 as Eljanov.
"Looks like Kramnik has a pretty good chance if he can keep his rating up"
He can't qualify by rating since it's all rating lists of 2015 that count, i.e. Topalov and Giri will qualify by rating.
Not Kramnik's best endgame, after Andreikin blundered the exchange and lost a pawn with no compensation I thought he would just resign, with also much less time left on th clock, but Kramnik somehow failed to win it and even almost lose on time in the end...
Giri's worst opponent is Kramnik, and Topalov hates Kramnik. Now they are the only players able to give Kramnik a spot in the Candidates by reaching the final in the World Cup. If it depends on Topalov I don't think he will win his semi :-)

I am pretty sure he will qualify if Topalov and Giri make it to the final though.
Race to FIDE candidates 2016
----------> An Organizer's Nominee. The player must be rated at least 2725 on 1 July 2015. The organizer is not yet known. <---------- Scandalous

I think Kramnik is no longer motivated to win competitions. He is interest to enjoy what he's appetite calls from him to play rather what is appropriate or favorable. If he won any tournament from now on, it will be a result of experience play and not much of a consistent performance or somewhat preparation.
The difference from Topalov is that Vladimir seems to experiment in positions were it is not necessary so much technical play than to perform simple chess and somewhere there he mixes his results.

As much as Topalov hates Kramnik, I don't think he's going to sabotage his own tournament just to deny Kramink a spot in the Candidates - especially considering that Giri would also have to cooperate.

So... anyone wanna take a guess who the organizer's nominee will be?
Thoughts?
