3-fold repetion

Hello,

In a game I have a repeat postion for 3rd time with same person to move.

I thought I'd be able to claim draw.

Seem to only have offered a draw.

Is it not possible to claim this draw? (It's a fundamental rule).

After making the move that causes the threefold repetition, go back to the game, when it is your opponents move.  The offer draw button will have changed to a "claim draw" button.

Nothing there!

Has it disappeared because I offered a draw trying to claim one?

In OTB chess you are supposed to claim before moving, so didn't want to move first.

Also, I'm playing turn-based 960. Take it the rules are the same?!

I would assume the rules are the same for 960.  I've never had a repetition draw in my very limited experience with 960, though, so I could be wrong.

In otb, you claim before the fourth move, right?

In over the board chess you anounce that it's going to be the same position for the 3rd time before making your move.

I selected draw before completing the move - so guess the computer had no way of knowing it was going to be. And having pressed draw it just offered a draw and then I guess removed the draw offer button so that when I did move I couldn't claim a draw. :-(

Lucky me got position for fourth time after having my draw offer ignored so managed to claim draw second time around.

Think this could be something to check.
Either the claim draw disappears if you offer a draw, or else the algorithm for 3-fold repetition is incorrect.
