I was able to play chess on my new smart phone for a couple weeks...then I had to restart my phone and your chess site wants me to give it a password now...as far as I can remember, I have only had to log into facebook to play, at least on a pc.I dont remember ever setting up a password for just your chess site. In any event when I try to change the password it tells me I entered an invalid e-mail address, which I can assure you its not. What should I try now?
If you will access the site from Facebook on a PC in one browser tab and open another browser tab and go to http://www.chess.com/home/change_email you should be able to add an email account to your profile. Once you have done this, let me know either here or drop me a note and I can set up a temporary password for you. :)
I have the same problem. I signed up with my facebook account and now I want to add an email address for alerts, but I can't add it because I don't have a password. And I can't add/change my password because I don't have a registered email address. Catch 22. Help please....

I used a google account to sign into chess.com (username: thetakencup) and I want to sign into that account from this device but theres no password associated with it, and I can't get signed into the google account with this device. Can anyone help?

You can open a ticket with support but if you don't have access to that gmail account anymore, it's unlikely you'll be able to access it. In that case, the site probably can't reliably link it to you either.

But that account was just logged into recently and played games.
I logged in with facebook, and, to my knowledge never made a password. If I did, I don't know it. The password changing requires an email address and I don't have one registered to this facebook chess.com account and registering one requires a password! Any help would be appreciated.
