Chess Mentor not allowing me to do individual lessons

I am a Platinum member on this site, which should grant me 5 Chess Mentor lessons a day.  When I try to access indivdual lessons, it routes me to a page which states "You have reached the maximum daily Lessons for your membership level", even though I have done no lessons today.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1. Goto the home page (www.chess.com), make sure I am logged in.

2. Click on the "Chess Mentor" link

3. Click on the "View Lessons" link from the Chess Mentor page

4. Click on a lesson link, for example "Moving the Rook" (the url for this link is http://www.chess.com/chessmentor/buy_now - I don't know if that is expected or not.  All other lesson links point at the same url).

5. Result: taken to a page with the "You have reached the maximum daily Lessons for your membership level." message in red on top.  Expected result would be I would start the selected lesson.

That sounds very annoying and yours is not the first post I've read about the problem.  Alas with all the resources being allocated toward completion of the all new V3 chess.com, I doubt that anything will be done until after the "any month now" rollout.  Looks like you're stuck with the sequential/adaptive dance...

Unfortunately, that is the same answer I got from support.  Disappointing :(

I have stumbled across a solution completely by accident.  Hover your mouse over the "home" icon, then click on "live chess" in the shaded brown box, then click on "game archive".  Suddenly the "chess mentor" icon appears.  Honest. I'm not making this up!

I am not sure if this is the same problem, but I am unable to get any lessons once I attempted to do one of the courses. If I choose a lesson, I get the your need to upgrade your account screen.

Also, does this website actually have a support group or are they just leaving all that non-essential stuff to the forums. That is a bit of a bummer

I have the same issue. Report is on the way.

Dwilson962;  Do you get that message for mechanical reasons, or financial ones??

dwilson962

I don't believe it was financial. I have what's left on a one year membership and I was signing on for the first time the day it happened.

Same issue here. Is it any use sending a message to the support team, or will it be automatically fixed over time?

This exact problem happened to me just now. I'm a continual member here, but may find an alternative sight if I can't access features I paid for.

Found some help in this regard:

"When you open your Chess Mentor page, click on 'Start Training' instead of View Lessons -- you can still choose the lessons you'd like to do, and you should be able to perform the lessons from that page."

This is correct, by doing these exact steps individual lessons can be performed. BUT you can't search for specific lessons (e.g., a specific opening) because the only page that allows access to lessons does NOT have a search for lessons feature. Please get your stuff together chess.com.

I have stopped to make mentor lessons 6 month ago, I realy do not see anything fixed in 6 month. Sound in live is also not working for me.
