There's something strange about my games archive. I understand it will show only my last 10 games as an unregistered user; but some weeks ago I logged in and could only see my last 2 games. I tried clicking on the "view my games archive" link but it would show the same 2 games.

Seing as how the archive stayed that way for days; I believed then that it also had a time limit and probably my other games had expired. BUT today I log in and the missing 8 games are back there. I don't get it.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it; but I'm using firefox. I'd like to know how it works or how it should work, just to be aware and save the pgns on time.

Omicron, the site is working on issues related to player games in the Game Explorer. I would say wait a few more weeks then see if there are more issues.

gotluck, .pgn is a file format for replaying a chess game. You do not need to download it, but some people like to as a means of studying and cataloging their past games. You can read more about it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Game_Notation

A FEN position is a means of conveying a games' position. It does not tell how the game arrived at that position, only what the position is. This has several uses, one of the reasons I use it is to take the current position and instert it into a very large database of chess games to see of that position has been encountered in any of those games, and if it has, what were the next moves made, and how did the games end up? You can read more about FEN here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FEN

I hope this helps both of you.
