Chromium browser mostly works for me on my up-to-date Ubuntu 14.04 system. I say "mostly" because it does not support Java anymore. A few features require Java, such as "Finish game vs Computer". But in general it plays well. I do NOT have the Pepper plug-in, maybe try disabling it? Else .... Firefox.

Adobe Flash Player - Version: 15.0.0.223
Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0

And as BryantPark said, it doesn't support Java anymore, so I guess I'll have to use firefox, didn't know chess.com required java.:

Chrome and Linux
Starting with Chrome version 35, NPAPI (Netscape Plug-in API) support was removed for the Linux platform. For more information, see Chrome and NPAPI (blog.chromium.org).
Firefox is the recommended browser for Java on Linux.
Thanks, I hope they add support again in the near future.
Title + I tried both full size and simple board. It loads the main screen but then I can't load any game (be either to watch or to play).
