Rating not increased

Hello everyone,

I just won a turn-based game on time, just at the second move. My rating did not increase (the game was laurentmeyer vs. mseturk if you want to check it out).

Given the circumstances, I don't consider it as a win and I don't care if my rating did not increase.

But still it was a rated game, so I would like to know if there is a minimum number of moves before a win / loss has an impact on the rankings. Maybe it was just a bug...

Thanks for your answers ! Cheers

Apoapsis

They made it so that any game under 4 moves that ends doesn't effect rating

Some morons created 2 accounts and played each other hundreds of times, resigning after the first move. Thus, one rating would skyrocket. It's just a system to prevent this. :)

Timeouts under 4 moves do not affect ratings. For resignations there is no minimum.

That being said it is better to resign if you are overextended. It is easier to recover a rating than to reduce a high timeout ratio.

OK thanks for the replies !

cuz if resignations had a minimum, White could resign after 1.d4 e5 2.Qd3?! ed 3.Qe3?? ad not harm his rating.
