There are two things:
1. Aborted game. I think you got 2 minutes for first 4 moves. Not really sure about time in which you got to make moves, but ratings won't be affected.
2. Abandoned game. When opponent leaves without resinging (or has internet problems) they have 5 min to recconenct or they will lose.

What period of time must elapse before a game is considered 'abondoned' in live (30min) chess on chess.com? Sometimes im waiting for my opponent to make a move for quite a while and then 'game abondoned' pops up. Does this mean they turned their computer off without 'resigning' or does chess.com do this if you haven't made a move after a certain period of time? Thanks
