waiting five minutes

You must wait 5 minutes between games.Your play is restricted because you have not followed our Fair Play Policy which discourages stalling, abandoning games or intentional aborting. This restriction will be lifted automatically after you play more games fairly.

How many games do I have to play more fairly?

To tell you the truth I was trying to see how many games I could play at once and while doing so something came up. I had to leave. It was not intentional.

AlCzervik

And, in doing so, this triggered an automatic restriction.

Chochah

So what for the rest of my life or what? I am still being told to wait five minutes to start a new game. This automatic restriction is Bull Sh!t and unnecessary if you ask me. What is the deal chess.com?

erik

the deal is, nobody likes playing with people who abandon games or do other rude behavior (like stalling). so, you're account has been flagged. you can contact support, or you can play some games with friends or people you know who can help you play games with good behavior.

our point of view is that the inconvenience you are experiencing now is a price we are willing to pay for less of the behavior you did earlier: abandoning many games in progress. imagine how frustrated you made all of those other people. did you stop to consider how your behavior impacted anyone else, or only your own inconvenience?

Chochah

I don't like playing and then having to wait five minutes just as others hate those that abandon games.

Chochah

How do I contact support then? That's all you had to say

You are new to the site, correct?  Your comment suggests you are either new to chess altogether or not interested in giving it your full attention when you do play.  Masters can play multiple games at once but not against people of the same strength.  If you really are someone that the rest of the community want to share games with then you would be interested in playing chess properly and not as some flippant "scan-move-next-scan-move-next" cycle.  I see no cause for complaint in what you have said:  as Erik pointed out you have inconvenienced a few people at once.  Live with your actions.

You are takling this way too seriously. If it bothers you that much then I will just deal with it for the rest of the life of chess.com. I did not mean to make a great deal out of this. I simply told you that it was not intentional when I left games and abandoned them. Not likely that I will try to play more than one or two games at the same time anymore.

Why don't you lighten up pal. Oh and for the record I am not new to the site. You are fucken blowing it out of proportion Here_Is_Plenty.

Here_Is_Plenty

If you were not making a big deal of it why did you post 6 times and draw attention to it?  Okay I apologise if I have offended you but I would not be amused to find someone had been wasting my time by playing multiple games at once in speed chess.  I can see now I have checked that you have been on here since 2008, I thought from your low number of member points you were new, my bad.  I am pretty sure it doesnt last forever but for some sort of probationary period only.

EternalChess

I am guessing it is random, just play games fairly and dont do anything to discourage "the system" from keeping the "flag" and your account.

I think it is a fair rule.. you make people wait, or do something to frustrate people, now you will have to live with what you were doing, hopefully good behaviour will remove it.

Tooke you don't have to swear

Chochah

You don't have to tell me not to swear. Think ethics. I won't swear any more. Just trying to make this simple. Fix the five minute thing for me and I will stop asking about it.

I must side with Chess.com on this as well.  Abandoned games are one of my biggest pet peeves of internet chess.  it is virtually non existent in regular face to face play.  i feel that the chess.com actions are not only justified but obligitory to the rest of the community.  Without consequences, the excuse of playing multiple games at once when something came up, offers no motivation for behavioral change.

Should have made it 10 or 20 minutes

Chochah

Whenever I start a game and the opponent does not want to play I have to wait five more minutes.
