I will start a Mate in 2 collection very soon, because making difficult Mate in 1 puzzles is very tough. I will keep this collection up too though.

Rd5 would also be mate in the third puzzle as the knight on c3 is defending it.

1. bxa8=bR+? Kxc7 no mate. In some cases breaking the rules is right... but this is not one of those silly things. The first move is illegal for 2 reasons, not just 1.

Hint 1: White can deliver mate. But can white deliver mate now? What was the last move?

Hint 2: Sometimes directmates are given as "Mate in x against any defence." Normally x is 2 or more, but it happens to work fine for 1 too.
