Rating Corralation

What is the correlation between chess.com members' ratings for Live Chess, Chess Mentor, Tactics Trainer and official rating?

Does anyone know?

And do the algorithms used use this information in their formulae?

I ask because I would like to think that if my Tactics Rating was low, for example, then I should practice my Tactics etc. But I want to know logical that is.

Here's some anecdotal commentary: Live Chess ratings (if based on broad and frequent play, with few disconnections) should be in the neighborhood of federation ratings, but likely biased high by 70-to-120 points; Tactics Trainer ratings appear high to me, at least relative to Live Chess/federation ratings; finally, I don't have access to Chess Mentor, so I can't comment on it.

Here's a link to some interesting info on average ratings: Average Ratings.

There is no real correlation between the different ratings on Chess.com. You should consider each one individually on its own. Best would be to see how you compare against other players in that rating category and compare your rating to the average rating of each one.

Thanks, that's helpful.
