I hope that we all agree in allowing more time for team Egypt do to their special situation.

India considers Egypt a great friend. But on this issue, I will not be able to agree with this proposal. Egypt should consider the issue from others points of view. A tournament should be run as scheduled or not be run at all.

If Federer gets injured after round 2 of Wimbledon, will he request the tournament directors to postpone round 3? Even if he does, will the TD do it?

Sympathy for our colleagues @ Team Egypt.

However. Todays date is 22nd March 2015 ?

As long as the delay isn't exorbitant, I see no significant problem with the proposal. Team Egypt could be given a little time (whether one month, two months, etc.) before a forfeiture is compelled. Perhaps a three-month delay would be a maximum? After all, we wouldn't be wise to distort the schedule into future years, either.

We would also need to be wary of other teams following suit in requesting exceptions of such nature.

I mean not to question or diminish the importance of these games or the League. However, would we feel right to stand firm and force games to be played and/or forfeited in the face of revolutions, "bombs," and "terrors"?

thanx All for your sympathy to Team Egypt for our peacefull and friendly Chess Society.

in the second team match of 3rd Round , Start time Delay is only 5 days .

I think that Organizers can agree our proposal to Excluded from start time and numbers of players condition to become 10  instead of 15 players .

Organizers can give A warning for one time only to  every country team which violate the instructions of W L Champinship.

I think it is possible to reduce the numbers of active players in our teams to be able to participate in the League according to its political and exceptional country circumstanses.

we can issued our games to be from 1+ to any more numbers of players will make easy to start in time without violation of League instructions.

My sympathy for Egypt people... however it's just a chess teams tournament and things happens and rules are for everyone and tournament must go on under its rules... so, Team Egypt will have another chance another season... and I wish Egypt people to find peace and prosperity soon... it will be great for all humanity...

Precisely because it's "just" a chess tournament is why I personally believe that a modest postponement is well within everyone's reasonability to accept, while resulting in minimal inconvenience and encroachment to Team Egypt's opponents. Of course, I recognize the need to keep any delays to a reasonable minimum, as well.

Will have to agree with Skand here - highly unsusual to make such exceptions.

Tennis is one analogy. Baseball could be another. Baseball games are semi-frequently postponed because of rain. Could WL games not be postponed because of bombs?

How "unusual" such exceptions are depends on us.

If Team Egypt had a flimsy excuse or didn't want to play, then that would be entirely different. If Team Egypt members are stopped from playing due to no Internet connection, then is WL fair to compel events to progress?

I wish not to be obstinate or contrary. I simply think that some explanations and reasons miss the mark.

Must be remembered that Egypt, population 75 million, are unlikely to lose power all at the same time. In addition has members outside the country.

Exceptions in this case would beg the question for Team Iraq, Team Syria, Team Yemen etc etc.

@rikldn: And those are excellent points, I concede.

In 2001, Major League Baseball games were postponed for one full week in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks, for example. The ensuing World Series finished in November for the first time in its history. The circumstances were not ideal, but events transpired at their appropriate time.
