Playing under faster time controls

Hey Guys,

here comes a quick question..

I am an on and off chess player (fide 1811), usually i find myself good at finding and exploring tactical possibilities on the board but at the cost of some serious time, but this is true for longer versions on the board, i do well positionally and have done well even against opponents rated 500 points higher than me, however when it comes to playing rapid games , i feel too tied up for time, i give it my all to find the best moves on the board and normally blitz it out in the last 1 min.. i have good results in rapid as well ( in fact my rapid rating is higher than standard) but this feeling of playing under serious time pressure gives me a virtual heart attack every single game..

Any suggestions as to how can i manage to save some time in rapid games...
