Removing 'Ineligible' players from tournament

Please to all those T.D's starting new tournaments-how about removing those players who don't qualify via the player ratings?? I know a lot of people have been complaining about this issue of late.

This is how you do it:First-on your T.D tournament home page, click 'edit settings' & firatly un-click the 'Tournament Auto-start' thats the biggie cause now the tournament won't start until you manually click 'tournament begin's' when full; And then when ready to update players eligibility, back to Tournament Home page-remove ineligible players via your 'manage player' setting-then you click on 'remove'. This updating should all be done before starting the tournament, but don't leave it to long before removing your tournament players as ratings may well change daily!?

Hope this clears it all up as the main reason for those players who wonder why some players are not what the tourney ratings state at the the start of a tournament-mostly because the T.D has "auto-started" the tournament and not updated the players eligible.

I hope you all can now start the tournament's happy.

Why would you do that? If they were in the tournament when it started then they're in the tournament.

case 1 - the player has a USCF rating of 1749 and a chess.com rating over 1760 and is playing in a tournament match set less than 1500

case 2 -  a tournament has been 71% complete since july, and the slow player has just under 1600 active games - I dont want him in round 2

To answer your original question: as far as I know, you can't.

Regarding case 1: How long as the tournament been taking place? Is it possible that the player improved by 250 rating points over the course of the tournament?

Regarding case 2: When you create a tournament, you can choose to only allow players with an average time per move below x to register. Once the tournament has started you can't kick anyone.

A player can easily shoot up 250 points if they only had a few games under their belt at the time of joining. They should not be penalized when they have abided by the rules. It is up to the TD to set the parameters to avoid cases 1 and 2. Set a minimum of 30 games played so true ratings are seen. Set avg move time to3 hours or less. Set up no vacation. Make sure auto start is off so a final screening can be done before the tourney starts.
