Goals: To reach USCF rating 1700 by the end of the summer, to reach 1900 by the end of junior year, to reach 2100 by the end of senior year. Do well in the Potomac Open U1700, get at least 4.0/5.0 pts.

Plans

1. Practice 30 minutes of tactics a day w. video recording so I can spend 15 minutes going over patterns, tactical strategies, etc. and reach 2000 in tactics by the end of the year.

2. Watch all the parts of Damian Lemos and Will Stewart’s French Defense video with a complete understanding of what to do on black’s and white’s perspective of the opening which includes Normal Variation, Tarrasch, Nc3, etc.

3. Study endgames with Jeremy Silman’s complete endgame course, I will review all the concepts in Class C and Class B.

4. Watch videos on the Ponziani Opening, Alapin Variation(c3) in response to the Sicilian Defense from ichess.net or chessopenings.com or chess.com. Also, learn some main theory if white plays Nf3 after e6 from the French, I play c5 transposing into the Sicilian and I can play the Kan a6 followed by such moves as Nc6, Qc7, etc.

5. Play in West Chester 1^st Saturday Quads on July 11, 2015, 3GS(80/d5). Result: 2.0/3.0, 1601>1609.......What I can learn from my loss: Watch out for tactics played against me by opponents, its going to start getting harder. 7/11/2015

6. Practice some chess mentor courses on strategy and expand knowledge which can help later on or if that doesn’t work out, I will follow the Intermediate Study Plan to help me and watch those recommended videos.

7. Order a lot chess books so that even if I am not online, I can still read and gain knowledge.
