Once lived a young man who was sad went to a Zen temple for advice. "You must know that I am useless. I never committed to anything for a length of time. I wonder if there is any way for me." The Zen master said: "there is, but not easy. tell me which are your skills!". "Not much. The only thing I liked was chess." The master called his assistant. "Fetch me a chess board and a very sharp sword too". "Now, you and my assistant will play a game of chess. The loser's head will be cut". The young man never been so focused. His entire life depended on this game. But as he neared victory, he realized that if he won his opponent would die. At this compassion arose in him, and the young man started making mistakes to give his opponent the victory. At this, the master knocked over the board. "No one will die here, only two things are required on the path: complete concentration and compassion. You have learned them both"
