I have been playing chess for about 4 years now. I have a decent collection of chess books. All have not been read, of course. However, I have read a good many of them. Some of you who are avid chess book readers might recognize, How to Think Like a Grandmaster by Alexander Kotov and Amateur's Mind by Jeremy Silman (I have 3 of Silman's books including this one). Besides middle game training and tactical books, I have a number of opening books and read them whenever I get the chance (which isn't often). Still, I love opening theory and do my best to play the opening as far as I can go (which isn't very far for some openings). I have played in a few tournaments and have won a first, second, and 2 fifth place trophies. I am playing here at chess.com to try new opening ideas, sharpen my middle game skills and strengthen my endgame. As you can tell from my rating, I need quite a bit of work, but I will play my best in each game. Please do not be offended if I resign and do not play the game out to the end. When I resign, I know I am lost and do not want to insult your chess skills. Consider my resignation a complement as I know that you can finish me off. I look forward to playing chess with you all and hope you enjoy the games. Have a great day. Tenga un buen dia.
