The name Cowboy Junkie is from the band (see the picture). It also works because I am a Dallas Cowboy fan. Bob Dylan is the greatest American songwriter ever...followed closely by Townes Van Zandt...other folks that are on my iPod right now are: Trixie Whitley, Ryan Adams, Adele, Florence and the Machine, Brandi Carlile and of course the Cowboy Junkies.
I have been playing chess forever...I pretty much enjoy reading anything about chess. Chess history, game compliations, stategies...anything by Jeremy Silman...I have bought them all. It has not made me a great chess player but it sure is fun. Besides chess books...I enjoy reading history, biography and the occasional novel. "Killing Floor" by Lee Childs will hook you into a 16 book series. I just finished "Drift" by Rachael Maddow (really interesting historical look how America has gone to war) and am currently reading "Imperial Cruise" by James Bradley which is one of the most intriguing books I have read in a long time...an excellent time capsule back to 1905.
I have been a member of quite a few sites and Chess.com has everything I could want: videos, Chess Mentor, the Tactics Trainer are my favorites...as well as on-line and live games. It is all good.
If you are still reading this...I do not know why...but hopefully you will find a band to enjoy or book to read. One last thing...for my American friends...Thanks for re-electing President Obama. He has gotten us turned around in the country and the world...now we can keep it going!
God Bless
